MACC is delighted to welcome our newest Board Member, Steven Palone of Palone Brothers Air Conditioning and Tommy Williams of USI Insurance Services, our new Board Secretary. Steven and Tommy join our dedicated team of MACC leaders committed to the growth of our association and the continued success of our valued members.
Congratulations, Tommy Williams, our newly appointed MACC Secretary!
Tommy Williams, Vice President of Sales for USI Insurance Services, joined the MACC Board in 2019. Over the past year, prior to his appointment as Secretary, he has been deeply involved in our ‘virtual’ meetings, inspiring new ideas, programs and events designed to drive membership, keep our members active and involved, and help MACC emerge from these challenging times as a blossoming organization.
Tommy was born and raised on Long Island, graduating from LIU/ Post with both an undergraduate degree in Finance and Economics as well as an MBA. He began his career at USI Insurance Services in 2014, first as an account manager, then transitioning into his current role as VP of Sales for the past five years.
As a native Long Islander and USI VP, Tommy specializes in Construction Insurance in the New York market: “The HVAC/Construction industry is very unique, especially in New York,” emphasizes Tommy. “The company presently insures over 300 HVAC/Mechanical contractors, including many MACC members.”
“In my position as a broker at USI, I deal with a lot of business owners in HVAC,” reports Tommy. “I understand the business from a vendor standpoint, enabling me to bring in a different perspective of the industry to the MACC association.”
With Tommy’s industry knowledge, background and expertise, we are confident he will bring many great ideas and a world of new possibilities as Secretary of MACC!
Meet Steven Palone, our newest MACC Board Member!
“I am deeply honored to be chosen as a MACC Board Member,” enthuses Steven Palone. “I look forward to using my skills and experience in the HVAC business to help generate innovative new ideas that keep the MACC Membership active, involved, and help inspire the next generation to join our great organization!”
Steven grew up in Glen Head and currently resides in Westbury. He is a graduate of Chaminade High School and Catholic University in Washington, D.C., where he majored in Business Management with a special interest in marketing, accounting, and economics.
Steven joined Palone Brothers full time in 2015, immediately following graduation from college. “I had worked at Palone over the summers since I was about 12 years old,” says Steven. “I was a helper for many summers until I was 18, when I was given my own truck. When I came on full time I started as a service technician, then moved to an installation technician, then helped measure and layout ductwork. After being with the company for about 2 years I transitioned to an estimator, and then a year later to the Manhattan Service Manager, my current position.”
As the Manhattan Service Manager, Operations Manager, and Estimator for Palone Brothers, Steven oversees all service accounts, service technicians' schedules, control designs and layout on all new projects, and operational logistics.
Steven greatly anticipates working with the MACC Board, bringing innovative ideas into play including interactive member meetings with presentations by MACC members on a variety of relevant topics. “I would like to see an informal, fun and interactive approach to our meetings with a variety of topics and discussions, where we can all learn something new and relevant in running our business,” said Steven. “I was also thinking about the possibility of sending out a questionnaire to help get some other ideas and input about meetings, webinars, and exactly what everyone feels comfortable doing in 2021. It would be great to get member input on topics the Board may not have considered.”
“Prior to the pandemic, as a MACC member, I enjoyed the guest speakers, comradery, and discussions we had with other business owners and/or managers about issues and challenges we all shared,” reflects Steven. “As a Board Member, I am excited to bring the interests, expectations and involvement of the next generation to our organization.”
We look forward to a whole new influx of energy and excitement from Tommy and Steven as they embark on their new positions on the MACC Board. Our congratulations and best wishes for a successful and fulfilling experience!
